I’ll tell you…because with pain and the arrows that people have shot at me, nobody else would have been able to take it. They would have probably committed suicide by now…they would have become a drunk. Because, they have been very cruel and rude to me. And, if they don’t think I hear it and see it…I do. IT’S BEEN THE CHILDREN…I AM HOLDING ON FOR THEM or else I wouldn’t have made it. I really wouldn’t have made it. God gave me a mission to do something and the children have given me the support and the belief and the love to hold on…hold on. It’s like God saying, ‘Michael, everything will be okay!’…when I look in the eyes of a child.
My greatest dream that I have left…I have accomplished my dreams with music and all of that…and, I LOVE music and entertainment.
But, it’s this children’s initiative, this thing that we are doing…what keeps me going is children. I would just throw in the towel if it weren’t for children and babies. I’ve said it before…if it weren’t for children, I would choose death. I mean that with all my heart.
~The innocence of a child represents to me the source of infinite creativity. That is the potential of every human being. But, by the time you are an adult, you’re conditioned by things about you…and, it goes. That’s the problem with adults…they lose that childlike quality.
~What we need to learn from children isn’t childish. Being with them connects us to the deep wisdom of life, which is ever present and only asks to be lived. Now, when the world is so confused and its problems so complicated, I feel we need our children more than ever. Their natural wisdom points the way to solutions that lie waiting to be recognized within our own hearts.
~Children have had their childhood stolen from them. A child’s mind needs the nourishment of mystery, magic, wonder, and excitement. I want my work to help people rediscover the child that’s hiding in them.
~I see this knowledge showing itself in the eyes of children more and more, which makes me think that their innocence is growing stronger. They are going to disarm us adults, and that will be enough to disarm the world. They feel no reason to spoil the environment, and so the environment will be cleaned up without a quarrel.
~A wise little girl told me the future when she looked at me, so full of peace and contentment. I rejoice in trusting her about all the experts. As light and love drive away our guilt and shame, her prophecy must come true.
~When children listen to music, they don’t just listen. They melt into the melody and flow with the rhythm. Something inside starts to unfold its wings…soon the child and the music are one.
~When I begin to feel a little tired and burdened, children revive me. I turn to them for new life, for new music. Two brown eyes look at me so deeply, so innocently, and inside I murmur, ‘This child is a song.’ It is so true and direct an experience that instantly I realize again, ‘I am a song also.’ I am back to myself once more.
~To want to learn, to have the capacity to learn and not to be able to is a tragedy.
~The innocence of children represents to me the source of infinitive creativity and I feel that is where all my creative source comes from. This is not an intellectual kind of intelligence, but an intelligence that is full of wonder, magic, mystery and adventure. In this intelligence there is love, there is trust, there is joy and there is beauty. It’s the kind of intelligence that will heal the world. That is why I am here…that is why we are here.
~Children have few rights and no one to speak for them. They have no voice in the world. God and nature has blessed me with a voice. Now, I want to use it to help children speak for themselves. I have founded the Heal the World Foundation to be the voice of the voiceless: the children.
~Today, we stand together all around the world, joined in a common purpose, to remake the planet into a haven of joy and understanding. No one should have to suffer, especially our children. This time, we must succeed. This is for the children of the world.
~I don’t mean to sound weird, but, I really believe that children are God. I think that they are the purest form of the creation of God. When a child steps into room, I am totally changed. I feel their energy, their presence, and their spirit. I think we have to remember it is easy for adults and parents to push them aside and not to pay attention to them. But, I think they have so much to say and we don’t listen, we don’t feel. It’s almost hard to put into words.
~Let us help our children…dream of a better tomorrow where we can truly love from the soul and know love as the ultimate truth at the heart of all creation.
~To all the grown-ups, I would like to say this…To us, so many things seem important. Sometimes, we think we are important. We are not important. Nothing is more important than our children. They are the future. They can heal the world. It is our obligation to be there for them, to advise them, to motivate them, to help them and to love them. Let us encourage them to go for their dreams. And let us as parents, friends and relatives help them to have good dreams.
~Before you know if you have red hair or brown, before you know if you are black or white, before you know what religion you are a part of, you have to know that you are loved.
